I’ve always been a big fan for NVIDIA and I’m pretty sure with the price cut, I’d be ready with my credit card to buy it once the stores reduce price.

But what concerns me the most is that it uses the ATOM processor – a processor which is a stripped down version, which is designed to operate for basic functions.
I’m thinking of spending a couple hundred more to get the dual-core – it’s just a couple hundred more though.

But according to Abaco Computers of Milan, they claimed to have produced the world’s first Intel Atom dual-code PC. This would be a super slim barebone system whereby it only measures 27 x 20 x 10 cm (just under 11 x 8 x 4 inches).
Comes with a classic box configuration, the PC come packs with two 1.6 CPU, 2GB RAM, 6 USB ports and many more other goodies.
If it’s cheap, I’m thinking of getting one of these dual-core desktops. Way to go Abaco Computers!

This little device doesn’t have the ‘edge’ in its design however, Toshiba attempts to tempt you with their low-margin Atom processor based netbook.
The NB105 is packed with an 8.9-inch display with a 1.6GHz Atom, 1GB of RAM and Windows XP. It should be out in November.

AMD leaked out to the market that it would take on it’s rival, the Atom with an Ultra-Value client series. It has the single-core variant with 1.6 GHz chip, and the 330 variant with its 3250e dual-core 1.5 GHz processor.
Already with dwindling sales as Intel continues to improve their processor with much better performance versus lesser wattage for the chips, I believe that this would give an edge to AMD.
