aedvIt seems having a rather squarish laptop is becoming the latest trends. Dell has introduced their all new Inspiron ‘squarish’ series a couple of weeks back and now Toshiba has come out with their own squarish Satellite Pro S300 / S300M laptops.

The S300 series comes with a 15.4 inch display while the smaller S300M has a 14 inch display. Both comes with 2 year warranty and has these specs:

160GB 5,400 RPM hard drive
Core 2 Duo CPU
Dual-layer DVD burner
3GB of DDR2 RAM
Intel's GMA4500MHD graphics card
Bluetooth 2.1+EDR
Built-in Webcam/Mic
And a whopping 9-cell battery pack

It’s rather pricey though - $899.

zrgI think Microsoft has gone soft in its naming game – they made a decision to name their upcoming OS, codename Windows 7 to be Windows 7. This means that it would no longer carry a rather ‘stylish’ XP or Millennium, or Vista but a plain boring Windows 7.

I just don’t get it, 7 doesn’t really represent anything and it doesn’t have significant values – except that you are a gambler and would be constantly betting on the number 7.

Way to go Microsoft – Windows 7 how ironic…..

rbsIt’s good news (really?) that the Playstation is upgrading their firmware for PS3 to version 2.50 and for the Playstation Portable to 5.00. This means that all the past technical problems would be weed out from the current firmwares.

Also, for PS3, the firmware would enable you to use SOCOM Bluetooth Headset in high quality mode.

Official release date has yet to be announced. So stay tune…

vrsGood news! If you haven’t heard about this, MacBooks is set to use NVIDIA chipsets as their graphics standards. This means that they will use the revolutionary 9th generation of NVIDIA graphics card on the MacBooks.

However, what concerns me the most is that it might eventually increase the retail price of the MacBook itself as NVIDIA GeForce 9400 / 9300 chipsets aren’t cheap.

Let’s hope that they will promptly release the MacBook NVIDIA version soon.

vdedvedI love small and slim devices and in this case, one of my favorite desktop and laptop supplier, Dell, unveiled their latest Dell E Slim laptop for the ‘slim laptop’ market.

The laptop features a 10 to 12 inch display and it’s pretty thin for its standards. On the other hand, it has a basic keypad and it looks rather metallic.

Well, let’s just hope that the price for the Dell E Slim is also rather slim for the wallet – making is a must for this Christmas purchase.
