Tropical Depression Threatens Stability of Oil Well in Gulf Region |
Apparently, forecasters are lighting up the warning sign that a tropical depression is quickly racing towards BP’s ruptured oil well in the Gulf Region. Basically, this particular storm has already flooded Puerto Rico, Haiti, Dominican Republic, and it might reach the Gulf of Mexico by Saturday.
BP has already received the report, whereby key decision makers are still deciding on whether to evacuate the crews who are stationed inside the oil rig. Generally, oil rigs are left with a skeleton crew whenever a big storm is about to hit the rig, as clearly, such measures would ensure safety for the crews who are working inside the oil rig.
Personally, I think that maintaining the crew at the oil rig is pretty risky, but surely, the oil leaking from the oil well is also threatening the entire eco system in the area – So what’s your call BP?
