WiMAX has always been the much anticipated wireless technology of the future, whereby the respective technology uses the 4G network, which allows consumers to stream tremendous amount of data wirelessly at greater distances. However, WiMAX sales in the US has been somewhat sluggish, whereby wireless data companies are already succumbing to huge losses, due to the fact that they have invested a lot of money on the WiMAX infrastructure.
However, it seems that WiMAX engineers are yet again pushing the bandwidth limit for the technology, whereby it seems that these engineers would want to create the impossible – to stream 1Gbps wirelessly. Basically, current wireless data transmission is still stuck at 100Mbps, and if they did reach the 1Gbps threshold, that would definitely be ground breaking, don’t you think so?
